Sean Mcvay: Rams have not closed on the job of Jalen Ramsey but had no significant conferences
Dolphin coach Mike McDaniel said on Wednesday that “zero has changed“Regarding a potential business of the Jalen Ramsey corner half. It is essentially the same answer as the Rams coach, Sean Mcvay, later gave in the day when he was questioned about a possible meeting with Ramsey.
“Yes, we will never finish these opportunities,” said Mcvay.
The Ramsey contract becomes less prohibitive to be negotiated after June 1, when a ceiling of $ 25.213 million would drop from $ 18.468 million. This is a date on which Ramsey has tweeted cryptically this week.
“You and I know both that it is not a real date,” said Mcvay when it was asked that it is the next checkpoint on the future of Ramsey.
The Rams have left the door open for a possible Ramsey return, but it seems unlikely given the compensation that the team should give up draft choices and money.
“There is not much that I have to offer,” said Mcvay. “There are a lot of diapers with something of this magnitude when you talk about the player’s caliber; the compensation they are looking for in return. What is it like? Change fairly quickly, as you know.
Ramsey, 30, has not done All-Pro since 2021, but he was a bowler player as recently as in 2023 despite only 10 games this season. In 2024, he totaled 60 plated, two interceptions, a bag and 11 passes defended in 17 games.
