Caitlin Hughes and Pat King launch PR Sound & Vision label

EXCLUSIVE: Veteran independent film publicist Caitlin Hughes has teamed up with long-time collaborator Pat King to launch American public relations firm Sound & Vision.

Hughes has worked under the name Caitlin Hughes PR since 2017 and joined King in 2022. They plan to expand the new label in the coming years.

Sound & Vision will continue to represent the independent film scene, but will also look to branch out into music and live performances. King will lead the music PR efforts, having worked for years as an entertainment journalist, previously as an editor at Metro New York and Metro Boston.

Caitlin Hughes PR clients include Drafthouse Films, Oscilloscope, Utopia, FilmRise, Yellow Veil Pictures, digital distributor Narrative, Nitehawk Cinemas, Alamo Drafthouse Downtown Brooklyn, BAMcinemaFest, Indie Memphis and American Documentary’s long-running documentary series POV, which airs on PBS.

“If the press doesn’t move the needle on a given project, it’s not worth our time or the artist’s time,” said Hughes, a former publicist for Brigade Marketing and Vimeo. “It’s very rewarding to work and research and develop these specialized plans that get even the smallest, strangest project noticed by the right people. And since Pat started working with me, he has brought a renewed curiosity and wonder to this work.”
