Wuthering Waves recently revealed many details regarding the Lahai-Roi update, and it appears that the patch will introduce a new combat mechanic called Tunability. This will presumably allow the resonators to quickly destroy a Tacet Discord’s vibration force and interrupt their attack patterns. Tweakability will also send the target into a Mistuned state, making it vulnerable to tuning breakage.

Wuthering Waves Unveils New Tunability Mechanism
Kuro Games has shared quite a few details regarding the Wuthering Waves Lahai-Roi update. So far, players have gotten a glimpse of upcoming characters, Echoes, and the tunability mechanic. The combat changes should disappear with the version 3.0 update.
Here’s everything that was revealed about the tunability mechanic in WuWa:
Detuning level and haze
- Each time a resonator attacks an enemy, it accumulates a level of detuning on the target, indicated by a white marker.
- Once the Distune Level reaches its maximum threshold, the enemy will enter the Mistuned state.
- They become very sensitive and the slightest attack will trigger the Tune Break. The effect causes targets to take additional damage and reset their discord level.
Setting Pause Skill
- Against strong enemies, cast Tune Break Skill after they enter the Mistuned state and when their Off-Tune level is maxed out to break their defense. This will also trigger a Tune Break.
- A Resonator’s Tune Break skill deals damage to enemies, reduces their vibration strength, interrupts their attack patterns, and resets the detune level.
Based on this information, we can assume that every Resonator will get the ability to cast the Tune Break skill after the Lahai-King update. Kuro Games will likely integrate this new move into the character’s existing combo instead of assigning a separate entry.
Either way, it will be interesting to see how Tunability shapes the combat system in the future. This new mechanic should improve the viability of the existing roster and simultaneously foster future Resonators. Speaking of which, the recent Wuthering Waves drip marketing campaign teased Mornye and Lynae from version 3.0.
These new characters will likely use Tunability to its full potential. Kuro Games will definitely add a Tacet Discord and tougher bosses beyond the Lahai-Roi update. To defeat them, players may need to master the new combat mechanics and, by extension, the Tune Break skill.
