Man United’s Joshua Zirkzee has given a clear message about his future

Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee was reportedly told he had ‘no chance’ of leaving Old Trafford in January.
The Netherlands international has only played five times for Man Utd so far this season, without a single start for Ruben Amorim’s side.
This looks far from ideal for Zirkzee with the World Cup next summer, as he will want to play regularly at club level in order to impress and make the Dutch national team.
Still, it appears Zirkzee must be patient and stay where he is, according to Samuel Luckhurst’s latest article in the Sun.
Joshua Zirkzee may have to stay at Manchester United
Caught Offside have previously been informed that a January exit seemed likely for Zirkzee, but he was held over the summer due to a need for squad depth.
Even though the 24-year-old isn’t playing much right now, there could be times this season where he’s needed as a backup option.
For example, it is not yet clear how serious Benjamin Sesko’s injury is, while MUFC will also lose key players like Bryan Mbeumo to the AFCON from late December to early January.
This makes it all the more important to keep Zirkzee around, in what could well be a frustrating situation for him.
Can Zirkzee bounce back at Man United?
Zirkzee will just have to do his best to make the most of this opportunity, even if it appears there is a long road ahead for him at Old Trafford.
The former Bologna man hasn’t scored for United in the Premier League for almost a year, and he will surely end up being shown the door next summer anyway.
It will be interesting to see how this saga plays out, but it looks like it could be one with quite a bit more back-and-forth before the transfer window finally opens in January.
