“Killing Of A Nation” Featuring Aml Ameen Lands International Sales Representative

EXCLUSIVE: Myriad Pictures handles international rights deals for Haitian political thriller Murder of a nationwith Aml Ameen (Rustin), at the American Film Market.

Also in the film are Jimmy Jean-Louis (Hero), Aïssa Maïga (Russian dolls), OT Fagbenle (The Handmaid’s Tale), Amaury Nolasco (Prison Escape), Ayola Ayolola (The elected officials), Jairo Ordonez (The sound of freedom), Grainger Hines (Dr. Mort) and Grace Van Dien (Stranger Things).

In the photo, Ameen plays Anderson Toussaint, a young American lobbyist for an investment fund in Haiti who finds himself entangled in a web of corruption and power struggles after gaining access to President Jovenel Moise’s inner circle. The country’s political woes ultimately lead to the shocking assassination of Moses, and the country descends further into chaos.

Carlos Bolado (Under California) directed the film from a screenplay by Jimena Gallardo. Olga Segura produces with Harold Sánchez (The king, Vicente Fernández).

“I have always been drawn to stories that fall somewhere between history and conspiracy, where the truth itself becomes dangerous,” Bolado said in a statement.

Murder of a nation it is not just about the death of a man; it is about the forces that conspire to erase the truth and silence those who seek it. Bringing this to the screen meant finding tension not only in the plot, but also in the shadows between reality and fiction.

Murder of a nation is a Crooked Highways production. Filmmakers include composers Gus Reyes and Andrés Sánchez; cinematographer Edgar Bahena; editor Paco Guerrero; casting director Carla Hool; and production designer Denise Camargo.
