Veteran FDNY Firefighter Patrick Brady Dies While Fighting Brooklyn Fire

An FDNY firefighter suffered a medical issue and died while battling an apartment building fire in Brooklyn, officials said Sunday.
Patrick Brady, 42, was working on the roof of a burning building on Kings Highway near E. 94th St. in East Flatbush Saturday evening when he went into cardiac arrest, officials said.
His fellow FDNY firefighters and medics attempted to save his life before he was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital, but the 11-year FDNY veteran could not be saved, officials said.
“Firefighter Patrick Brady gave his life to protect the city we all love; there is no more selfless sacrifice than the actions that took place tonight,” Mayor Adams said early Sunday. “Firefighter Brady comes from a family of firefighters, all dedicated to protecting the lives of their fellow New Yorkers.”
