Give him a badge and a little power.” Quiver Distribution has revealed an official trailer for a desert noir thriller titled Blood Stardirected by filmmaker Lawrence Jacomelli as his first feature film. This film premiered at a few genre film festivals in Europe last year and will be available on VOD later this month for everyone to watch. In this desert noir film, a petty thief crossing the New Mexico desert becomes the target of a psychopathic small-town sheriff who views his badge as a license to prey on vulnerable women. Stripped of her phone, her car, and her voice, she must rely on her raw instincts and street smarts to survive a brutal game of cat and mouse and reclaim her power in a country where the law is just another form of control. Blood Star is directed by British filmmaker Laurent Jacomellimaking his directorial debut with this project. The screenplay is written by Lawrence Jacomelli, George Kelly and Victoria Hinks Taylor. And it is produced by Lawrence Jacomelli, Victoria Hinks Taylor, Zaina Tibi. This originally premiered at the 2024 Neuchâtel Fantastic Film Festival in France last year, and has already opened in France in the fall.
