Batman will soon return in an exciting DC project in 2025, and that will include a version of Robin. The Bat-Family is an important part of Batman’s history in the comics. Unfortunately, the live-action Batman films didn’t explore this concept as deeply as they should have. Fortunately, many Batman TV shows and animated films have done the opposite.
James Gunn’s DC Universe will also correct this error when it comes to live-action Batman entries. This is due to how it was already announced that the DCU Batman movie, The brave and the boldwould feature Damian Wayne as Robin. This is also the version of the DC hero who appears in the next Batman project, with a first preview revealed.
DC Revealed What Bat-Fam’s Damian Wayne Looks Like
Just as the previous Dark Knight Project 2025 was an animated entry, the Elseworlds Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires film, his next appearance will be in a new animated series. Bat-Fam releases November 10 on Prime Video. The series is a spin-off of the holiday-themed animated film Happy little Batmanreleased in 2023.
As the title suggests, Bat-Fam explores DC Comics’ Bat-Family, although this version of the team is very different, including Ra’s al Ghul as a ghost, Man-Bat and more. Yet the key characters of the Bat-Family from the comics remain, one of the most important being Damian Wayne. In Happy little BatmanDamian protected his home from villains, becoming Little Batman.
As such, he will not be seen as Robin as he normally appears in DC media. Given his new title, Damian Wayne wears a children’s version of Bruce’s Batsuitbecoming his Batman character as seen in the trailer for Bat-Fam. Batman’s costume includes longer ears than Bruce’s, but retains the black and gray scheme and yellow oval on the chest.
How does Bat-Fam’s Damian Wayne compare to other versions of the DC hero?
Since Damian Wayne appears as a child version of Batman in the upcoming DC series, he will be quite different from most of his other appearances. Although Damian has been in several DC animated projects, he has always been as Robin. That said, Damian has become Batman in many comics.
Always, there is a key difference between Bat-Fam and comics. Indeed, Damian is already a version of Batman while still being the same age he is in the comics when he is Robin. There, Damian generally becomes Batman in alternate universe stories, like DCeased or future events. As such, Bat-Fam features a unique take on DC’s fourth male Robin.
