First Trailer For Slasher Sequel Reportedly Released Just In Time For Halloween

Shout fans have been eagerly awaiting a first look at some footage from the seventh installment of the classic slasher franchise, and if a new rumor proves true, we’ll see Ghostface in action again this week.
According to a reliable scooper Daniel Richtmannthe first trailer for Scream 7 will go live this Thursday – just in time for Halloween.
Plot details are still under wraps, but we might know what to expect from the now-obligatory opening kill sequence.
Major spoilers follow.
Apparently, the scene shows a couple (played by Michelle Randolph and Jimmy Tatro) checking into an Airbnb with a sinister history: the house belonged to one of the original Ghostfaces, Stu Macher (Matthew Lillard). The pair are then stalked and killed by the latest incarnation of the masked maniac, who burns the building after eliminating his victims.
Lillard has been confirmed to return as Stu, but it is highly unlikely that he will actually commit these murders as Ghostface (more on that below).
🚨 ‘Scream 7’ Rumor:
The opening murder in Scream 7 is said to take place in the iconic Woodsboro location, then the film moves to the Pine Grove location.

In Scream 7, Michelle Randolph and Jimmy Tatro’s characters rent Stu’s house as an Airbnb, get stalked, die, and the house catches fire. This is the first kill. #Scream7

Neve Campbell will return as Sidney Prescott for Scream 7and she won’t be the only familiar face we’ll see.
David Arquette is also set to return as former police officer Dewey Riley, alongside one of the two OG Ghostfaces, Lillard’s Stuart ‘Stu’ Macher and Scott Foley as Scream 3Ghostface, Roman Bridger.
Are these characters still alive, or are the Shout is the franchise finally introducing a supernatural element?
According to an earlier rumor, some of the Ghostfaces from the previous films (as well as other characters, obviously) will return via AI/Deepfake technology, which will “play a significant role in the plot.” It appears that part of the new Ghostface/Ghostfaces plan to torment Sidney will involve making her believe that the killers she defeated in previous films have returned for revenge.
Courteney Cox will also reprise her role as Gale Weathers, alongside Mason Gooding as Chad Meeks-Martin and Jasmine Savoy Brown as his sister Mindy. New cast members include Isabel May, Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace and Sam Rechner.
“Sidney Prescott returns!” Campbell posted on Instagram when his return was made official. “It has always been a pleasure and an honor to be able to play Sidney in the Scream films. My appreciation for these films and for what they have meant to me has never wavered. I am very happy and proud to say that I have been asked, in the most respectful way, to bring Sidney back to the screen and I could not be more thrilled.”
