Lorient v PSG: Line-ups, statistics and preview

Preview of the Lorient-PSG match
Luis Enrique has praised the versatility of his PSG players as he prepares to welcome back two key members of the all-conquering team that clinched the quadruple last season.
PSG have been hit by a series of injuries so far this season but have continued to win games, with Saturday’s 3-0 success at Brest taking them back to the top of Ligue 1.
According to Luis Enrique, it depends on his players’ ability to produce high-level performances out of their usual positions.
The former Spain and Barcelona coach said: “Over the last 15 years, mobility and the ability to play in multiple positions has been very important. We see it: whenever there are injuries, players occupy those positions in a positive way. That’s very important for me. I can appreciate that in the majority of my players. It’s very positive.
“It’s important to take the player out of his comfort zone. When you ask a player where he likes to play, he says here or there. But to be important for the team, you have to open your mind to be able to find another rewarding role. We are an example of a team that changes positions throughout the match.”
PSG will travel to Lorient tomorrow evening to try to maintain their invincibility which now extends to six matches in all competitions. Luis Enrique is not demanding any respite and hopes to be able to repeat last season’s exploits.
He added: “We don’t think about what we have done, but what we still want to do, which is to win trophies. The time has come to be ambitious and win all the trophies again.”
On paper, Lorient should not pose a big threat. They sit 16th in Ligue 1 after Sunday’s 2-0 defeat at Angers, but Luis Enrique was predictably quick to praise the Breton club.
“We have to think about what we can control, and it is only the Lorient meeting that interests us today,” he declared. “It will be a difficult match.”
