‘We can’t play without him’ – Former cricketer’s massive statement on Rohit Sharma
While Rohit Sharma was playing in the ODI series against Australia, former India opener Kris Srikkanth said that the Mumbai batter is a definite inclusion for the 2027 World Cup and the team cannot function without him. Speaking on his YouTube channel, the 65-year-old said:
“Rohit is a certainty in the 2027 World Cup. We can’t play without him and Virat Kohli. Rohit Sharma has lost 11 kg and looks super fit. He was the old Rohit Sharma, with the touch game. He was batting with such ease and playing the ball so late.”
“Don’t bring up this whole age thing that he is approaching 40. He is fit, he hits well and catches slips brilliantly. What else do you need? He is bowling with such ease as he did in the 2019 World Cup. The only thing is that he did not get to seventh or eighth gear and continued in third and fourth gear,” he added.
Meanwhile, Rohit is expected to return to action in the three-match ODI series against South Africa, which is scheduled to begin on November 30.
