Chelsea interested in Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki

Parma’s rising star Zion Suzuki has become one of the most watched goalkeepers in Europe, with Chelsea and AC Milan both tracking the Japan international, as reported by Corriere dello Sport.

The 23-year-old has been a mainstay for Parma since 2024, already making 44 appearances in Serie A.

With Chelsea reportedly evaluating long-term options beyond Robert Sánchez, and Milan evaluating depth and succession planning behind their No.1, Suzuki’s name has come to the fore.

Chelsea goal learns English and Italian

Interestingly, he is studying English and Italian, a modest but telling sign of a player preparing for the next step.

Suzuki’s appeal is easy to understand in today’s goalie market. He is a goalkeeper who is comfortable advancing off his line, claiming crosses decisively and launching attacks with quick and precise distribution.

Although Sánchez offers experience, the London club have constantly looked for profiles that could progress into this role over several seasons.

A goalkeeper with Suzuki’s range, comfortable in tight spaces, quick to launch counterattacks and reliable under pressure from set pieces, would strengthen the Chelsea squad and goalkeeping department.

The Premier League giants are, however, expected to face competition from Milan, who are looking for a long-term replacement for Mike Maignan.

There has been no public mention of the price, but with a 23-year-old international who has already proven himself in Serie A, the starting point will not be modest.

Whether it’s January or summer, Suzuki is about to enter a crucial part of his career where his next move could define the path of his future.

The Blues are said to be confident in their current goalkeeping options, but Suzuki’s performances have caught their attention.
