Man United star Bruno Fernandes not wanted by Bayern Munich

Reports suggesting Bayern Munich have added Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes to their transfer shortlist have been strongly denied by Christian Falk.
Contrary to claims circulating in recent days, Bayern have no active interest in pursuing the Portuguese playmaker, who is reportedly seeking an improved contract at Old Trafford.
While Fernandes’ name naturally carries weight in discussions about European football, insiders insist that Bayern’s supposed interest is exaggerated or, more bluntly, used as part of a negotiating tactic by the player’s camp.
Fernandes was reportedly on the German champions’ radar, but those reports have now been denied by Falk.
Bayern Munich has no desire to recruit Bruno Fernandes
A senior figure in Bayern’s hierarchy reportedly rejected the story outright, telling reporters the speculation was “false.”
Under the leadership of sporting directors Max Eberl and Christoph Freund, Bayern Munich targets young, emerging talents rather than established veterans with high salaries.
Fernandes, 31, remains one of Man United’s most productive and influential players, but his current contract and salary pose a hurdle for any potential suitors.
Bayern bosses have made it clear in recent months that the club intends to reduce its wage structure, following several years of inflated wages under previous regimes.
Adding an expensive, high-profile player like Fernandes, regardless of his quality, would contradict this strategy.
As Fernandes enters a crucial stage of his career, it is believed his representatives could position him for an improved deal at United.
Man United star seeks pay rise at Old Trafford

By linking him to a club of Bayern’s stature, the player’s camp could strengthen its influence in discussions over a contract extension or pay rise.
This tactic is not uncommon in top-flight football, where transfer speculation is often used as a negotiating tool.
It is also worth noting that Bayern’s current midfield option, including Jamal Musiala, Leon Goretzka and Aleksandar Pavlović, offers a balance of creativity and youth.
Rather than bringing in an older, attack-minded midfielder, Bayern are expected to focus on defensive reinforcements and wide attacking options ahead of the next window.
Falk says there is “zero chance” Bayern Munich will make a move for Fernandes at the moment.
The Portuguese midfielder was heavily wanted by the Saudi Pro League this summer, but he decided to stay at United, a decision influenced by his wife.
