This marked Head’s third consecutive failure in the series, after scores of 8 and 28 in the first two ODIs, and drew heavy criticism from fans on social media.

Siraj dismissed Travis Head for the third time in ODIs. He dismissed the Australian batter five times in Test cricket.
The Hyderabad pacer was unable to add more wickets in the match to strengthen his place in the 50-over team, having taken just one wicket in the first two matches. Earlier this year, the 31-year-old was left out of India’s squad for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.

Travis Head reached a milestone in the third ODI match, becoming the fastest Australian batter to score 3,000 runs in One Day Internationals.
The left-handed hitter reached this record in his 76th inning, surpassing Steve Smith’s previous record of 79 innings. Head has been a consistent performer in the limited format over the past few years.
Head is now ahead of notable Australian players such as Michael Bevan and George Bailey, who reached 3,000 ODI runs in 80 innings each. It took 2,839 deliveries to reach the mark, behind Glenn Maxwell (2,440), Jos Buttler (2,533) and Jason Roy (2,820) in terms of balls faced.
