Jacob Elordi’s Gothic Sci-Fi Horror Adaptation Gets Nearly Perfect Audience Approval

This Halloween season, one of the highlights of the big screen is undoubtedly Guillermo del Torothe long-awaited version of Mary Shelleythe classic gothic tale, Frankenstein. Last week, the film debuted in theaters following its premiere at the Venice Film Festival in late August, and while reviews were positive following it, audiences are simply loving the latest adaptation of one of literature’s greatest horror novels.
On the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, Frankenstein‘s 87% “certified fresh” critics score is indicative of a film that nearly lived up to the heady expectations crafted by a director at the top of his game. However, the almost perfect score of 98% given by the public suggests that the film is the most must-see entry this Halloween season, with Frankenstein officially debuts on Netflix on November 7. With the duo of Jacob Elord like the classic monster and Oscar Isaac As creator Dr. Victor Frankenstein, the film is del Toro’s 13th feature film. A summary for Frankenstein bed :
“Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro adapts Mary Shelley’s classic tale about Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but selfish scientist who brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the doom of the creator and his tragic creation.”
“Frankenstein” features a stunning performance from Jacob Elordi
After its festival debut and limited theatrical release, the same aspects of Frankenstein seem universally praiseworthy, based on early reviews from critics and audiences. From del Toro’s breathtaking vision to his dedication to the original story, there’s a lot to appreciate in this new adaptation. However, perhaps proving the aspect that deserves the most praise due to the actor’s acting against the grain, Elordi’s performance dominated the positive discourse. In Ross BonaimeIn his review of the film for Collider, he wrote of Elordi’s performance:
“One of the best choices Del Toro makes here is to show the story from the creature’s point of view, and for that reason, Jacob Elordi really has a chance to shine. His evolution over the course of the film is beautifully presented, as he deals with his “ruthless life”, as he calls it. This is almost certainly Elordi’s biggest acting challenge yet, and he excels at making the creature an empathetic character who doesn’t know his purpose and struggles to make sense of everything that happens to him. While there is a major improvement over other adaptations of Shelley’s novel, it’s the way Elordi plays the creature with great care and empathyeven if the film is a bit of a chore.”
