Liverpool’s Arne Slot aims to dig into Man United tactics

Liverpool manager Arne Slot took aim at Manchester United’s tactics under Ruben Amorim for their Premier League victory at Anfield on Sunday.
The Dutch tactician explained after the match, a 2-1 defeat which made it four on the bounce for the Reds, how he thought his team were unlucky after creating so many chances.
Liverpool certainly came close on several occasions, with Alexander Isak missing a great chance in the first half, while Cody Gakpo hit the post three times in total.
Watch the video clip below as Slot took aim at Man Utd’s tactics in his post-match press conference, describing them as playing with a ‘low block’ and playing a lot of ‘long balls’ against his team…

Arne Slot on Manchester United tactics
“I think if you play United, with as many quality players as they have… if they come at us in a low block, playing so many long balls, then the last thing you want is to lose 1-0,” Slot said.
“If you had told me we were 1-0 down against a United team who played the way they did, and if you had told me we created eight, nine, 10 open chances, then I would have told you I don’t think that’s possible.
He added: “Of all the chances we had, we only scored one goal.”
The former Feyenoord coach also lamented the fact that his team once again conceded from set pieces.
Overall, it was a bad day at the office for LFC and it will be interesting to see if they can turn things around after four straight defeats.
A lot of new signings don’t seem to be working out and last season’s stars like Mohamed Salah have also gone backwards.
