Caterina Scorsone’s break from Grey’s Anatomy

THE Grey’s Anatomy character, played by Catherine Scorsoneshared during the October 16 episode of the series that she was going to take a sabbatical following the tragic hospital explosion in the season 21 finale that killed Dr. Monica Beltran (Nathalie Morales) during the season 22 premiere.
However, the actress’ absence won’t be too long as E! News has learned that after a brief hiatus, his character will return to the operating room in 2026.
The series revealed that Amelia would be taking a sabbatical from her role as a neurosurgeon during the drama’s 450th episode.
And as the series continues to thrive, creator Shonda Rhimes has been candid about how she never imagined it would go this far — and now, she doesn’t know how or when it will end.
“I would say around episode 150, I knew how it was going to end,” said Shonda, who stepped down as showrunner in 2015. TodayIt is Craig Melvin on the Oct. 13 episode of the NBC morning show. “Now we’re at 450, I have no idea. I mean, I wasn’t sure if we were going to make it past season four or five. So the fact that we’re here in season 22, season 22, is insane.”
