PREDATOR: BADLANDS – Predator Becomes Prey in Action-Packed Debut Clip

20th Century Studios (via IGN) has released the first music video for Predator: Badlandsdirector Dan Trachtenberg’s sequel to the critically acclaimed film Prey.

In the action-packed preview, we see the Yautja film’s protagonist, Dek, fighting off an attack of relentlessly vicious plant creatures.

By speaking to IGNTrachtenberg described some of the advanced weapons Dek will use in the film.

“It starts off with a number of really cool gadgets. I always felt like there was a connection between the Predator franchise and James Bond. Part of what we like about going to see it is, what kind of gadgets does he have? And I’ve been stuck in the past with my entries in the franchise, with Prey taking place in the 1700s and Killer of Killers taking place in several different decades. past, so I always had to think, what would be its armament. if it was a little more before what we are used to seeing?

“Now I’m way into the future. So he has laser bows, a great laser sword that has multiple modes. His sword that he uses, he holds it like a typical knight or samurai would, but then she changes it to a different mode and he can use it almost like a glaive.”

We recently received confirmation that Badlands will be the first film of the Predator franchise – not counting those of 2004 AvP crossover – not having an R rating. Speaking to IGNproducer Ben Rosenblatt explained why he thinks fans will be on board with the family classification, while promising that Badlands will always be very violent.

It appears the studio was able to offer the film with a PG-13 rating, as it won’t feature any humans in the carnage.

“We’ll see where it ends up, but our hope is that it could be a PG-13 that looks like an R,” » said Rosenblatt. “That’s kind of our hope. And really, it’s just about being able to expand the audience for a film like this.”

“We don’t have any humans in the film and therefore we don’t have any human red blood,” he continued. “So we’re hoping that this will work to our advantage. We’re going to do everything we can within these constraints, and we think we’ll be able to do some incredibly horrible things. But in colors other than red.”

We know that Dek will devastate several alien creatures and that the only humanoid characters are Weyland-Yutani synths.
