Diane Keaton’s family reveals the actress’s cause of death

After days of mourning, Diane Keaton’s family has revealed that pneumonia was the cause of the legendary artist’s death. It was announced on Saturday (October 11) that Keaton had died at the age of 79 at her California home, although no cause of death was given at the time.
“The Keaton family is so grateful for the extraordinary messages of love and support they have received over the past few days from their beloved Diane, who passed away from pneumonia on October 11,” her family said in a statement to People.
A huge outpouring of support and appreciation followed the news of Keaton’s death, with many coming together to congratulate the iconic actress. AMC Theaters announced Monday that it will honor the late Oscar winner by re-releasing “Annie Hall” and “Something’s Gotta Give.” Keaton was nominated for best actress for both roles, with “Annie Hall” marking her first and only win.
“As a filmmaker, I lost a connection with an actress that one could only dream of,” “Something’s Gotta Give” writer/director Nancy Meyers said in a statement. “We’re all looking for someone who really understands us, aren’t we? Well, with Diane, I think we had that mutually. I always felt like she really understood me, so writing for her made me better because I felt so safe in her hands. I knew how vulnerable she could be. do it seem improvised) but she could be funny sitting at a table or just walking into a room. “
Keaton has directed a wide range of acclaimed films throughout his career. She earned two more best actress nominations between “Annie Hall” and “Something’s Gotta Give”: one for 1981’s “Reds,” the other for 1996’s “Marvin’s Room.” She also starred in successful feature films such as the “Godfather” trilogy, “Finding Mr. Goodbar,” “Manhattan,” “Baby Boom,” “The Father of the Bride”, “The Stone of the Family” and many others.
