But when they reunited years later to Duplicityshe described it as “interesting”, partly because she was only on set for a few days filming her “wonderful cameo”. In the film, Preston’s character sleeps with the boyfriend of Roberts’ character, played by Clive Owen.
“I’m on set doing a very intense scene where Julia Roberts looks at me and wants me to die because I slept with her boyfriend. I have to do this thing of crying on cue, which, as you know, is a lot of pressure, especially when I don’t know any of the crew,” said the Elsbeth said the star. “You have to keep yourself in a vulnerable position.”
It was earlier in the day when she said Roberts came up to her and warned her she was going to be “mean” before filming their scene together.
“She gave me a big hug and then she said, ‘I’m going to be mean to you for the rest of the day.’ She gave me reasonable warning,” Preston recalls. “She just told me, ‘I’m going to be mean. I’m just not going to talk to you for the rest of the day.’ And it was exactly what I needed for the scene.
THE Real blood The former student knew it would be more difficult if they “made noise” before the scene and then she had to “go cry.”
“They call me and say, ‘We’re ready for you, we’re ready to go.’ The cameras are all installed. We barely rehearsed,” Preston said, adding that she “just started sobbing” once Roberts glanced at her.
“It happened. But it was the most stressful acting experience I had at that point,” she explained. But Preston was ultimately grateful that Roberts “graciously” chose to be “mean” to her to help her performance.
“We did the scene and it went well. And then she had the whole crew applauding.” The good wife » concluded the actress. “It was a cool moment.”
