Fantastic star of four Kate Mara reveals her feelings on the restart of the MCU

Marvel’s first family returns to the big screen – this time under the vigilant eye of Marvel Studios – for The Fantastic Four: First steps. It was a long and rocky route for the superhero group to join the MCU. Before Marvel Studios took control of the franchise, the Fantastic Four were supervised by Fox. During the studio time with the property, three films were published: Fantastic Four (2005), Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007), and Fantastic Four (2015).
The latter played Kate Mara as Sue Storm, Miles Teller in the role of Reed Richards, Michael B. Jordan in the role of Johnny Storm and Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm. The film offered a radically different vision of the superhero group, offering a grainy story that plunged into body horror and anxiety, rather than the optimisim associated with its source material. The approach did not work. 2015 Fantastic Four was criticized (he holds a RT score of 9%) and he became a failure at the box office ($ 167 million worldwide).
Now, one of the film’s stars has shared its reflections on MCU’s next restart. Addressing Hollywood journalist Kate Mara was invited whether she would look or not The Fantastic Four: First steps Once he strikes theaters. The actress said that the restart does not approach bad memories of her time to do in 2015 Fantastic FourAnd said that she would be delighted to watch the film alongside her family:
“The movie that comes out does not really raise things, good or bad. I love going to the movies. It is my favorite thing to do, especially with my husband [Jamie Bell] And our children. [‘First Steps’ is] totally different from ours [‘Fantastic Four’ (2015)]So why not? I really love the casting. I love Pedro Pascal. Yeah, I would totally see the new Marvel. “”
It is nothing revolutionary, but it is good to know that the restart does not approach bad memories about its time as Sue Storm, especially given the way in which it revealed how difficult the film was difficult for it. Addressing Emmy Magazine in 2020, Mara described her time on the film as a “horrible experience”:
“I had a horrible experience on” Fantastic Four “. I never talked about it before.
She then entered in more detail on her experience in both Fantastic Four And another of his films:
“The fact is that my two horrible experiences with the directors were directors. Where with the male directors, that only happened with me;
To come back to the MCU, it is fun to know that she would be ready to look at the version of Marvel Studios of a superhero that she played previously. Also, who knows? Given its multifiverse nature, Avengers: secret wars could bring together the past versions of Marvel characters (cross my fingers for more Tobey Maguire Spider-Man), so there could be technically a possibility that Mara joins the MCU as a version of the invisible woman.
What do you think of Mara’s comments concerning First step? Are You Excited for the film? Share your thoughts in the comments.
The Fantastic Four: First steps arrived in theaters on July 25, 2025.
