The 28-year-old, who won three gold medals at Paris 2024also took advantage of this moment to tell his experience to Tokyo 2020 (which took place in 2021), where she withdrew from the artistic gymnastics competition prioritize your mental health.
“I think while training for Tokyo, there were already some mental health issues that I was neglecting, and I was so worried about my physical health for the extra year that I neglected my mental health,” Biles recalled.
“For many years, mental health has been a voodoo topic,” she added. “And it’s been seen as weakness, when in reality we should be changing the conversation and thinking about it as courage and strength, rather than weakness or shame or guilt that needs to be felt.”
In Buenos Aires, Biles will also host a gymnastics clinic for young talents.
