What the Kansas City Chiefs are saying as they prepare for their Week 6 matchup against the Detroit Lions

What are the Kansas City Chiefs talking about ahead of Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium?

1. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes knows the Chiefs have some things to clean up after a short week following a loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday night. They return home to face the mighty Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football. Mahomes particularly lamented the offensive penalties that he said prevented them from reaching their full offensive potential against the Jaguars.

“We have to be better, you know?” Mahomes said. “We’ve lost too many games already (3). We have to find a way to be better as a team, come together and play better throughout the season.

“We hurt ourselves with penalties. As we continue to clean this up, we will continue to score more and more points. We have another big challenge this week playing the Lions, who are another great football team, who score a lot of points themselves and play with a lot of pride, so it will be very important for us to go there with the right mindset, knowing that it will be a big challenge.”
