Manchester United legend Roy Keane has given a strong response to the debate over who is the best player between Arsenal’s Declan Rice and Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo.
Speaking on the latest episode of The Overlap, former Man Utd captain Keane praised Rice, saying he would pick the Gunners man “any day of the week”.
Rice and Caicedo are currently among the best players in the world at their positions, and it’s not easy trying to pick a favorite.
Most fans will surely be divided on this point, but Keane made a strong case for Rice when asked to choose.

Fellow pundits debated Rice and Caicedo, but Keane made it clear he felt it was the Arsenal man who had more to play for overall.
“I would go with Rice any day of the week,” Keane said.
“He just has that package, a little extra over all the other parts of Caicedo, I think. I’d go with Rice.”
That’s quite a compliment from Keane, who himself was one of the best midfielders in the world in his prime.
Arsenal wanted both Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo
It’s worth remembering that before Arsenal splashed the cash on Rice, they also tried to sign Caicedo from Brighton.
As reported by the Telegraph in January 2023, Brighton rejected an offer from the Gunners for the Ecuador international.
Caicedo would then end up joining Chelsea later that year, while Rice would end up moving from West Ham to Arsenal in the same window.
We imagine fans of both clubs will insist they won’t swap their player for the other, but it would certainly have been interesting to see Caicedo at Arsenal if this deal had worked out.
Perhaps this could also have meant Rice ending up at Chelsea, but we’ll never know.
As for who is the better player, we may never have a clear answer either, but who would you choose? Let us know in the comments!
