The new vice-captain ODI of India, Shreyas Iyer, ends the preparation of the Ind VS Aus series with fifty years

After being the highest in India during the race in CT 2025, Shreyas Iyer once again proven its value before the Ind VS Aus Odi series

India cricket team’s new ODI vice-captain Shreyas Iyer proved his worth yet again with a 62-run knock in the INDA vs AUSA 3rd ODI. The Mumbai batter, who was named as Shubman Gill’s deputy for the IND vs AUS ODIs, scored his second fifty in the ongoing series against Australia A where he is leading India A from the front. Iyer had score 110 runs in the 1st unofficial ODI following which he failed to fire in the second game.

Shreyas scored 62 runs off 58 deliveries in the 3rd unofficial ODI against Australia, striking 7 fours and 1 six. The Mumbai star, who finished as India’s highest run-getter in CT 2025 with 243 runs to his name, did outstandingly well in the ongoing series. In the 1st ODI against AUSA, he scored 110 runs off 83 deliveries, striking 12 fours and 4 sixes. His only failure came in the 2nd ODI where he managed to score just 8 runs.

An integral part of the 50-over setup, Iyer recently requested a break from red-ball cricket and has consistently been snubbed from the T20I setup. But there is no way he can be ignored from ODIs. The batter has 2845 runs from 70 ODIs to his name and averages 48.22.
