Nisd confirms no weapon found, no blow from the Clark high school campus, says the district

San Antonio – A spokesperson for the Northside Independent School District (NISD) confirmed that no shot had been fired and no weapon was found in the area of two of its campuses on Friday.
According to a letter from the director of Clark High School, Steve Zimmerman, campus officials received a report on a “suspicious person” in the parking lot possibly armed with a weapon.
Clark High School was placed in a “secure status” while the NISD police service investigated the report, said Zimmerman.
A person who equaled the description of the armed individual was faced with district officers and tried to flee, which, according to Zimmerman, led to a brief prosecution.
As a precaution, the letter indicates that Clark High School and Locke Hill Elementary were placed on a complete locking. Shortly after, NISD officials said the person had been arrested.
The district said that locking had since been lifted.
All students and staff are safe, according to the district.
The rest of Zimmerman’s letter can be read below:
This incident is a reminder that gives reflection on the importance of having well repeated safety protocols. I am incredibly proud of our students and our staff for their fast and reactive actions by following all the safety procedures during this stressful period. Their cooperation was essential to allow the police to effectively manage the situation.
The safety and safety of our students and our staff remain our highest priority. We take our obligation to maintain a safe learning environment very seriously.
We are currently having today’s events with the NISD police service and district officials to examine our procedures. We appreciate your continuous support and confidence when we work together to make sure that our school remains a safe and secure place for everyone.
If your student has to speak with an advisor about today’s events, do not hesitate to contact our consulting office.
Steve Zimmerman
