Unconvincing spurs save the late point against the animated Norwegian champions

Tottenham returned from two goals to save a point from their Champions League conflict in Bodo / Glimt on Tuesday.

Jens Hauge struck a second half’s splint when the Norwegian champions took a deserved lead before a Micky Van header of Ven and the end of Jostein Gundersen made a draw for the team of Thomas Frank.

The Northern Londoners were widely disappointing during their trips when they encountered a Bodo team in search of their very first victory in the Champions League.

Despite an unconvincing performance, the fact remains: Frank’s men are undefeated in the Europe Elite Club competition this quarter.

The spurs freeze in the Arctic Circle

An impressive fireworks welcomed Spurs players before kick -off in Norway, but it was the hosts who started with a blow.

As little as five minutes had passed when Guglielmo Vicario in the aim of visitors was forced to hit the effort of Captain Bodo Patrick Berg on the bar.

Things should not be much easier for Frank’s team when Norwegian champions stacked pressure, dominating possession and approaching shortly after the brand of a quarter of an hour by the top scorer Kasper Hogh.

The Spurs lived dangerously in the early stages and he barely came against the game race when, in the 33rd minute, a Rodrigo Bentancur too zealous tried to block a cross of Fredrik Bjorkan, but rather wiped Bodo’s back.

The referee had no choice but to point out the point. However, Hogh, who missed a penalty in a match for the hosts, flambé loudly on goal.

It was a discharge for Tottenham, who had the chance to enter the break in terms of level after the worst 45 minutes of Thomas Frank’s mandate so far.

But the apparently inevitable would arrive less than 10 minutes after restarting, when Hauge cut off from the left before curling a beautiful finish in the corner furthest from the net.

It was the least that Bodo deserved, although Tottenham’s response was instantaneous. Just 60 seconds after having gone behind, Bentancur had the ball in Bodo’s net, but his film was turned off for the offside and it was the hosts to experience a discharge.

Londoners fight

On the hour, Frank turned to the bench and brought Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus into the scrum in the hope of recovering something from the game.

But things would get worse rather than better for Northern Londoners. Bringing down on an error Djed Spence, Hauge picked up the ball, beat a defender before shooting beyond Vicario to double his count for the evening.

Again, the Spurs’ response was immediate. However, this time, the goal was held, Van de Ven who returned home to make the deficit of a delivery of Pedro Porro.

Munning firmly with visitors, Tottenham prompted an equalizer who, for so long, seemed very improbable.

With five minutes to play, Kudus Cross found Wilson Odobert, but the attacker could only direct his head on the post.

Bodo then struck the woodwork themselves by Andreas Helmersen before the Spurs cut a late level with the kind authorization of a decreasing Goal Gundersen which was finally given after a long Var check.
