In more major news at Madrid’s Iberseries & Platino Industria, Beta Film, based in Munich, obtained sales rights on the William Levya Studios Studios “Under a Volcano” and “Road to Arcadia”.
Presented as a criminal thriller, the six -hour series “Road to Arcadia” throws the sample as Pablo, the coach of a Canadian wrestling team living a calm life fulfilled with his son Bruno, whom he adores, and his partner Irene (Paula Echevarría), to his wife (Michelle Renaud) embodies and with her their dark past.
A romantic action thriller often with humor laces “under a volcano” will go like Captain Mario Torres, a dashing pilot sent to Canary Island Tenerife as a volcano shows signs of activity. There, Mario meets Dani (Maggie Civantos, “Locked Up”), a volcanologist known for his research and his ardent character. When the volcano breaks out, Mario and Dani must sail in its danger and their feelings for each other.
Directed by Jorge Saavedra (“Zorro”), “Road to Arcadia” is produced for Skyshowtime, a Comcast-Paramount Join Venture and the Svod Mexican operator Vix, which is part of Television. “Arcadia” and “Volcano” were also placed in an agreement on three sides between Secuoya, William Levy Entertainment and Vix announced during the projections of May 2024.
The two titles bear great streaming service potential. Levy, a star of “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter”, also on the head of RCN TV Telenovela “The Scent of Passion” (“Cafe Con Aroma de Mujer”), a huge success on Netflix, and the mini-series of Sucuoya Studios “Montecristo”, a great success on Vix and Spain’s Movistar Plus. Beta Film also sells the third season of “El inMortal – Gangs of Madrid”, a Movistar Plus + production with DLO Produccines de Banijay whose season 1 was presented at first at Caneser 2022.
In season 3 of the crowd thriller, tracing the spectacular elegant from the Madrid Narco food chain, José Antonio installed his most faithful gang member as a successor to his throne: La Rubia. But when a hooked denounces an upcoming expedition, the ultimate battle for the life and the death of José Antonio ensues. The series is produced by Movistar Plus + in collaboration with DLO Productciones.
Transactions are the last people of a 15 -year relationship between the film beta and Spain which saw Beta sell the original versions of Bambú Productciones “Grand Hotel” and “Velvet” in Latin America, bypassing format offers and without the need for a “neutral” Spanish Dub.
This breakthrough arrangement made both some of the hottest proposals on the Latin America cable market while pulling submarines for the operator SVOD Netflix.
Beta Film released some of the first titles of Movistar Plus +, such as “The Pier”, · Alex Pina and Esther Martinez Lobato followed “Money Heist” and one of the best -selling titles in Mipcom 2018.
Boffo sales led to Beta Film and Modistar Plus + sign a multi -year production and distribution agreement, announced in MIPTV of 2019, only ended when Movistar Plus + moved to launch its own sales operation, Movistar Plus + Internacional, in March 2022.
