Star Wars confirmed the only thing that Anakin Skywalker hates more than the sand

One of the most famous pieces of dialogue in the “Star Wars” trilogy is Rant Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen). “I don’t like sand. More than 20 years later, however, the franchise reminded Anakin’s sand in the animated streaming series “Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past”. In the episode “Part 4”, we see an alternative reality version of Dark Vader (Matt Sloan) try to apologize to an alternative version of Padmé (Catherine Taber). “Padmé, I mean I’m sorry. You know what I hate the most in this galaxy is the sand”, as Vader says. “But there is a more harsh thing than sand: regret. And I have lived with regret for a long time.”

Does this conversation count as a “Star Wars” cannon? In a way, but only in the sense that he will shed some light on what the characters in the films could have believed somewhere in the bottom. Perhaps the Dark Vader of films has thought of similar things, but with Padmé who was no longer in the original trilogy, he had no one to say them too.

It is easy to read the reminder “Lego Star Wars” as a joke that makes fun of the prequal, but it is even easier to read it as a celebration of them. Anakin’s sand line may be laughed at the origin of its clumsy delivery and its heated editorial staff, but through many years of memes of prequel, the fans came to the stage. Some fans have argued that the sand line is a fine metaphor for the ideological battle that the whole franchise is based.
