Livia Giuggioli tears Royal Honor during the visit of the British state of Trump

The ex-wife of the Oscar-winning actor Colin Firth returned a prestigious royal honor to a bizarre demonstration of challenge on the “appeasement” of President Trump to the United Kingdom during his state visit.
Livia Giuggioli, who received the most excellent order from the British Empire (MBE) in 2019 for her contributions to the fashion industry, tore her certificate and declared that she returned the medal to the British government in a dramatic Instagram rant on Wednesday.
The 56 -year -old activist said she made the decision after Trump – who, according to her, displays her “toxic rhetoric” in the United Nations General Assembly – was welcomed with open arms during her state visit to the United Kingdom last week.
“I thought about his visit to the United Kingdom last week and I am afraid of not being able to reconcile the way it was appeased and honored and, once again, legitimized,” wrote Giuggioli in legend.
Despite the designer of ecological fashion which said that it comes down to “the British Empire and the remains of this toxic system”, she declared that she only accepted the price on behalf of the “militants of the clothing workers” and the respect she had for King Charles – when he was Prince of Wales – during his “decades which fight in the name of social and environmental justice”.
However, this respect changed after the monarch welcomed President Trump.
The Italian National has reprimanded King Charles for his “scary display and loose in appeasement by someone who defends the obliteration of the natural world and the most vulnerable people on earth”.
“Because I cannot reconcile these two positions, I shredded my honor and I return it to the sender,” wrote Giuggioli.
Giuggioli said that his challenge show by sending his MBA and tearing her honor “certificate” was because she believed that “it was only by taking a position that we can make known our feelings”.
She also wrote a letter that she planned to send with her prize, signed “Livia Giuggioli (Firth)”.
The most excellent order of the British Empire is considered one of the most prestigious honors in the United Kingdom, created by King George V in 1917 to recognize exceptional community service, basic work or important local achievements.
The commander -in -chief was honored with all the external signs of the royal tradition – a ceremonial procession, a state banquet and a warmly formulated address of the monarch – during his historic two -day visit to the United Kingdom.
Giuggioli met his ex -husband, Colin Firth – who won the best actor for the King’s speech at the Academy Awards – in 1996 while working as a production assistant on the BBC “Nostromo”.
The two were married the following year and continued to have two children, Luca, 24, and Matteo, 22.
However, their marriage abruptly ended after admitting that they had a liaison with the Italian journalist Marco Brancaccia during a temporary separation of the award-winning double actor in 2015-2016.
While she filed charges against Brancaccia, saying that he was a “childhood friend who became a stalker” who began to harass her with telephone calls and messages, the two later reached a private settlement – preventing the details of their business from being revealed.
