Arsenal ‘Finishers’ Ebelechi Eze and Gabriel Martinelli Renflouillent Mikel Arteta as Pep Guardiola’s Man City ‘Parks the Bus’ – Premier League Hits and Lack | Football news

Arsenal’s “ finisters ” go back
Mikel Arteta used the word “Finishers” when he spoke of the importance of Arsenal replacements following his victory in the Champions League against Athletic Club on Tuesday. They again took them out of a delicate place five days later in the 1-1 draw against Manchester City.
There did not seem to be many things when Ebelechi Eze picked up the ball in his own half in the third minutes of stopping time after an apathetic arsenal display, but his ball above was perfectly weighted for another Martinelli “finisher” to do the rest.
The pass and the loop finish that followed were rare moments of individual quality in an arsenal performance which lacked attacker inspiration. For Martinelli, costs of his goal and help from the bench in the middle of the week, it was another proven point.
More broadly, however, reflected, once again, the increased depth available for Arteta. There is no doubt that the boss of Arsenal was wrong, but he is right to think that the games can be modified compared to the bench, even if this time, it was only for a draw.
Martinelli, in particular, hopes that his last contribution will be sufficient to win a place in the starting program against Newcastle next weekend. But, with Eze, he reminded another that Arsenal also has the tools to shoot games with their substitutes.

Has Pep “spoke the bus”?
Pep Guardiola smiled when he was put to him that he had “parked the bus” during his post-match press conference at the Emirates Stadium. “Once in 10 years, it’s not bad,” joked Manchester City’s owner.
His team recorded only 32.8% possession in their draw with Arsenal, the lowest share of the ball by a Guardiola team in any championship match in their career of 601 management games.
Guardiola put it on the quality of Arsenal rather than a deliberate tactical stratagem. There was perhaps a certain truth in this case given the second weakest percentage in his managerial career against the same opponents two years ago.
But he also underlined the context of an exhausting week for his players, Arsenal having had two days more than City, who beat Napoli in the Champions League on Thursday, having won the Manchester derby the previous Sunday.
There has also been an acceptance that their new look team always finds their way and that the changes of staff in recent months require certain adjustments to their style. Erling Haaland’s objective has shown the accent on direct attacks. The lack of possession, however, was something different.

Drought outside Newcastle concerning
An expected combined objective of 0.69 sums up roughly what was a dull affair between Newcastle and Bournemouth. The draw was far from exciting, but it is not something that Newcastle does not know St James park this season.
Newcastle has failed to score in its last four outdoor games, which adds to their lack of victories on the road during their last six.
It was a very changed Newcastle team with Eddie Howe bringing seven changes to the team that was beaten by Barcelona.
However, one of these changes included his club record signature, Nick Woltemade. For all the impressive actions he had on the ball, he failed to record a single blow, which worries Howe.
Having lost one of the best scorers in the League to Alexander Isak, Newcastle has an unwanted scorer problem, which will open the door so that the link is made from the Swedish. Fortunately for them, however, they will have time to remedy their go -up race, because their next trip is in Brighton, after the next international break.

The “Captain Fantastic” by Sunderland, Xhaka, delivers again
Some eyebrows were noted when Granit Xhaka exchanged Bayer Leverkusen for the newly promoted Sunderland in summer – but the decision of the club and the player has already been justified.
The 32 -year -old has played every minute so far during the first black League campaign since 2016/17, helping the side of Regis Le Bris at eight points from their first five games.
Not only is it a soothing presence in front of a defense with a high -flying limited experience, but it also provides precious help in the future.
Xhaka deposited on the aid to Wilson Isidor in the 2-1 victory against Brentford last month, and did the same during the 1-1 draw against Aston Villa, with his intelligent cushion head in the process of getting in mind to strike and win a point.
During his post-match press conference, the BRIS said that his captain had spoken to the group after the reinildo unnecessary red card.
His experience and know -how will help Sunderland when things are good – but also in difficult times inevitable later.
