“Our life is ephemeral … tiny – that’s what we are.” Universal France revealed two full official trailers for a whole new modern remake in classical history on The incredible narrowing man. From director Jan Kounen, this new French film is called The man who narrows (or just The narrowed man As there is no other English title yet). Jean Dujardin Stars in this remake / rehabilitation of Richard Matheson’s novel, directed by the French filmmaker Jan Kounen, and will be released in France in October. He was first at the first at the Film of the Film of Sitges 2025 in October-this is how I discovered this one, because it has barely been mentioned in the United States so far. A naval manufacturer named Paul inexplicably living on the coast inexplicably begins to shrink, then is trapped in its own basement, only once (a few cm) in height. He must fight for survival in the environment of now hostile ordinary households. “”The narrowed man is both a story of transition to adulthood and an adventure film. “Also with Marie-Josée Croze And Daphne Richard. And with a new score of Alexandre Desplat. It looks damn good! Not as cheesy or as ridiculous as I expected. Of course, once he is small, he fights his own cat and a very frightening realistic spider. It looks terrifying! I am really curious to check it – I hope it will also play in the United States shortly after the opening of the fall.

The narrowing man, a new adaptation of the cult novel, follows Paul, an ordinary man who divides his time between his company of naval construction, his wife Elise and their daughter Mia. During a sea trip, he met a strange and unexplained weather phenomenon. From that moment, Paul begins to shrink inexorably, with science unable to explain why. When, by accident, he finds himself trapped in his own basement, measuring only a few centimeters high, he must fight to survive this ordinary environment which has become hostile. Paul is confronted with himself, with his vital strength, with the strength which pushes him to continue to live and to advance towards the mystery.
