ABC News Station in Sacramento struck by gunshots

On Friday, three shots were fired in a window of the ABC affiliate in Sacramento, one day after a demonstration which took place outside the station about the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel.
Police are investigating, but has no suspicious information and no idea whether the shooting was random or targeted, a police spokesman said.
The shots were fired around 1:30 p.m. at the resort’s headquarters at 400 Broadway. The building was occupied at the time, but no one was injured.
“The agents who responded observed at least three shots in a building window,” the police said in a statement. “Currently, our detectives have responded and will deal with this scene and will follow up.”
About fifteen demonstrators demonstrated outside the station on Thursday, the Sacramento Bee reported. The Affilié, ABC10 (KXTV), belongs to Tegna, who is currently looking to be acquired by Nexstar.
“Although the details are still limited, all our employees are safe and unharmed,” said Molly McMahon, spokesperson for Tegna, in a statement published at CBS Sacramento. “We fully cooperate with the police and have taken additional measures to ensure the continuous safety of our employees.”
ABC10 covered the demonstration in its offices on Thursday, noting that it does not belong to ABC. The demonstrators opposed ABC’s decision to draw “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, Appearing a violation of freedom of expression.
The show has been out of the air since Wednesday, when the president of the FCC, Brendan Carr, threatened to leave after local stations for Kimmel’s remarks on Charlie Kirk’s killer. Kimmel said in his monologue on Monday that the “Gang Maga” was trying “desperately” to distance himself from the suspect, which implies that the Kirk killer was on the right. The conservatives strongly reacted to this, noting evidence and statements that the suspect held the ideology on the left.
Kimmel fans also protested in New York and the El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles, where the show is recorded.
