Rangers can hire a better English coach than Gerrard & Dyche

Never before, the expression that the dead man did not apply so well to a manager, but, for the moment, Russell Martin remains in charge of the Rangers.
The atmosphere of Ibrox last weekend was absolutely mutinated, with the supporters of Hearts Sigonnant “You are limited in the morning”, only for fans of the house, those who stayed anyway, to join us.
This 2-0 defeat means that the Light Blues has won none of its first five championship games to start a season for the first time in 47 years and, if the results go against them, they could be at the bottom of the PremierHip before they are no longer next action in Almondvale against Livingston on September 28.
Before that, Hibernian will be the visitors of a quarter -final of the League Cup on Saturday and, after losing only one of the nine outings since the beginning of August, David Gray’s team will be more than imagining their chances of victory.
Should the hibes have to reserve their place in Hampden, the 49ers could hold an emergency meeting by Saturday evening, so which manager should they aim, if a vacancy had to occur soon, which seems the most likely result?
The main candidates to be the next Rangers manager
Currently, the two horses to succeed Martin in Ibrox are Steven Gerrard and Sean Dyche.
Gerrard would certainly be the populist choice, having been in charge of the club for 192 games between 2018 and 2021.
The Englishman won only one trophy in charge of the club, but it was quite important, collecting the only title of the club’s premiere since 2011, crucially preventing Celtic from becoming the first Scottish side of history to reach ten consecutive.
Of course, other Rangers managers have had more stays in charge of Trophy in Govan, but Gerrard has resumed a complete mess and transformed the club, leading them to the stages of groups of the Europa League during four successive seasons, winning 12 qualifications, victories which were so crucial both from a financial point of view, but also to restore the club at the continental level.
Gerrard threw the foundations of the successor Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who guided the club to the final of the Europa League only six months after the departure of Gerrard, as well as in the phases of groups of the Champions League, so he could be the right man for what the club needs right now.
Dyche in the meantime, may well be the safe option, embodying the pair of safe archetypal hands.
It has been unemployed since he was dismissed by Everton in January, but is very experienced, taking charge of 557 matrices as a manager to date, of which 332 have come in the Premier League.
However, given that the clubs of his CV are Watford, Burnley and Everton aforementioned, it is difficult to predict how the Dyche methods translate if he trained a high -end side in a division, although this applies to the rangers tenthly placed?
However, there could be another available English coach who could be best suited to this vacancy.
Who the 49ers should target for the Rangers
In summer, it was reported that Gary O’Neil was one of the many candidates on the managerial list of the Rangers.
The 49ers, of course, rather opted for Martin, but should they rekindle their interest in the 42-year-old man?
As a player, the central midfielder made 539 appearances of senior clubs, representing Portsmouth and Middlesbrough more than 100 times, as well as stays with West Ham, Norwich, Bristol City, Queens Park Rangers, Bolton, Cardiff and Walsall.
He then started his career as a coach in charge of Liverpool’s youth teams, similar to the path followed by Gerrard, before moving to Bournemouth to be the deputy director of Jonathan Woodgate and then Scott Parker.
When the latter was dismissed, following an annihilation 9-0 in Anfield, O’Neil became a senior head coach for the very first time, leading Bournemouth in 15th place, benefiting from historic victories on Liverpool and Tottenham.
Thus, there was a general outcry when he was dismissed the following summer, replaced by Andoni Iraola, but he quickly found himself another crisis club, this time in the Midlands.
In August 2023, just a few days before the start of the season, Julen Lopetegui resigned from his post as manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers, where the reins in Molinine, guiding them in the same way towards security, ending the season with 46 respectable points.
He was dismissed by Wolves last December, after having given a single point compared to the first eight premier League matches, but the 42-year-old man was able to come and have an immediate impact in a club, such as the table below of the documents.

Of course, the record of O’Neil in Wolves last season was quite miserable but, as we see now, with the old rock-bas of the Premier League table, so as not to have taken a point, maybe he was perhaps not the problem in Molinine.
Before a meeting between the two clubs, the manager of Newcastle United, Eddie Howe, labeled his opposite “tactically clever” number.
In the meantime, speaking the match of the day in February 2024, Shay had the “phenomenal” work greeted that O’Neil did at Wolves, taking into account the difficult circumstances in which he was forced to work. He was even to be the next boss of England of Micah Richards.
In an interview with The Guardian this summer, O’Neil himself said that he believed that his team can be very “adaptable”, adding that he was able to obtain an “whole group of players from different cultures to join my way”.
These are like the exact opposite of what Martin is doing in Glasgow at the moment, so maybe O’Neil could be the perfect man for work, having excelled mid-season and in crises before.
