Shannon Sharpe issues a strong message to Arch Manning Loyalists after Texas QB escapes the UTEP

The start of the 2025 Arch Manning season was a complete disaster, especially after the opening match against the Ohio State of Ryan Day. Even if Texas has won the next two games, Manning’s individual performance has been quite disappointing. Last weekend, they welcomed UTEP minors at home and finished with a commanding victory (27-10). It was the defense of Texas that dominated throughout the match and filled the void whenever the offensive did not miss the ball.
At the end of the first half, Manning had only 5 for 16 and could not finish half of his passes. He was hooked by his own fans at home. Reacting to the whole scenario, the former superstar of the NFL Shannon Sharpe dropped critical comments on the passer. He said that if it was not for his last name, Texas QB could not have received so much attention.
The veteran star was addressed to Chad Johnson in the episode of Night Cap on Monday evening, where they discussed all the analysis of the game and gave their reaction.

“I have a question. The most popular guy on the team is a rescue quarter. Especially if it was Q. He is terrible. He is terrible man. Put him Arch. That’s it,” said Sharpe sarcastically, recalling the dilemma of fans last season, where Manning was considered superior to Quinn Ewers.
Sharpe’s co-plainist, Johnson, also joined the conversation and abandoned his real reaction to the Arc Manning Blunder.
“I mean, listen, listen. I don’t know what’s going on there. They have to play his strengths or something.
“You wouldn’t even have these expectations if his last name was not what it was. So, stop playing,” Sharpe has doubled on his sarcasm.
Arch Manning responds to his terrible performance against UTEP
After the match, Texas QB had a brief interaction with journalists. He talked about his mistakes and said he had a lot of work to do and that he was better than that.
“I have to play better. Lots of quarters – a lot of players – I’m great. I know I’m better than that. All my life, I was a specific passer. I just have to come back,” said Manning via ESPN.
Next weekend, the Longhorns will play Sam Houston at home. In order to keep the hopes alive, Manning will have to win almost all games on future weekends. At least more than 11 victories are necessary to support 12 teams as a dry team.
