Wales 0 – 1 Canada

Wales lost home for the first time under Craig Bellamy while Canada won a 1-0 friendly victory in Swansea.
The recent rangers signing Derek Cornelius planted a free kick of 25 meters after the home goalkeeper Adam Davies just before the interval and Canada was worth the victory.
In reality, it was anything but a friendly friend, because the English referee Robert Jones brandished eight yellow cards, with the two guilty parts of having sometimes survived the brand.
Bellamy had participated in the competition with a winning record of 54.5% – the best percentage of any permanent Welsh manager – from his 11 games in charge.
The only loss had occurred in equality of the World Cup in Belgium, but the Wales could have lucky not to undergo a heavier defeat while Canada struck the woodwork twice and pushed several other score opportunities.
It was the first visit to Wales in Swansea since a competition cocoked in 2020, and the first in front of a crowd for 12 years, and Bellamy made wholesale changes after their 7,000 -thousand marathon alliance in Kazakhstan on Thursday.
The winner of Kieffer Moore had kept the Welsh hopes alive to finish the top of their World Cup qualification group, but the Wrexham striker was part of eight players while the skipper Ben Davies, Neco Williams and Harry Wilson remained.
Cardiff’s right back, Ronan Kpakio, made his debut and Leeds midfielder Charlie Crew, his first departure, two teenagers aged 18 and 19 respectively.
Bellamy chose Canada – three places above 31st place in Wales in the FIFA classification – as a friendly opposition given its admiration for the co -animators of the 2026 World Cup and the “difficult test” he wanted. He certainly obtained his wish.
It was the fourth meeting between the two nations with Wales leading 2-1, and the first match of the Manager of Canucks Jesse Marsch on British soil since his departure from Leeds in February 2023.
Juventus striker Jonathan David was the name of Canada’s programming star.
Kpakio was spared an auspicious beginning while Richie Laryea was tumbled under her third minute challenge.
Jones seemed to feel that Laryea caught her crampons in the lawn, but Kpakio pushed a huge sigh of relief while the game was agitated.
David Brooks failed to connect with the cross of Mark Harris in front of the goal and Daniel James saw his efforts pushed by goalkeeper Dayne St Clair.
But Canada threatened with each attack, Ismael Kone hitting the inside of a post of the pretty calendar of David and Tajon Buchanan and Laryea betrayed by a lack of composure.
An open departure gave way to a fractious affair with Jones brandishing six yellow cards in 36 minutes, one for an exasperated Marsch.
Canada continued to knock on the door while Luc de Fougerolles passed a volley on the crossbar, and it finally opened its doors after 41 minutes through the fabulous free kick of Cornelius.
It was a more uniform competition after the break while De Fougerolles led the Harris violin and the crew led a Wilson corner directly to St Clair.
Wales survived when Tanni Oluwaseyi jumped on the error of Ben Cabango and flambé.
Late reservations for RHYS NORRINGTON-DAVIES and JAYDEN Nelson replacements brought the eight warning account, because Harris wasted a late opportunity to give Wales a part of the loot.
