It would be difficult to appoint launchers better than Paul Skenes at the moment. The Pittsburgh Pirates Ace should be the favorite to win the Cy Young Prize in the National League, and it dominated the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday evening.
In a marquee match, Skenes faced the Los Angeles Dodgers. He withdrew eight strikers in eight heats, granting only two strokes and a walk. He passed Blake Snell and helped the hackers finish a shocking champions scanning.
There are not many blows on Skenes. He has an MPM of 1.98 and 195 stick withdrawals this season. He was an All-Star during his two big league seasons. In fact, the only criticism of him is not even of him in reality.

All the season, fans stressed that despite his stellar statistics, he had a loser record in decisions. Through his first 20 departures, he had 4-8.
There is a lot of debate on the question of whether the launcher’s victories are a statistic that should even be examined, but it is shocking how frequency the pirates have wasted stellar outputs of their AS.
The pirates, however, helped to reverse this notion. During its last nine departures, Skenes has a 6-1 file. After beating the dodgers, it is now above .500, for the moment. Skenes commented on the fans pointing to his record of sub500.
“Yeah, they can’t say that anymore,” said Skenes with a sly smile after the match, according to Colin Beazley of Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Skenes probably does not care about his own file because his statistics speak for themselves. However, he seemed to make fun of fans calling for his record despite his figures.
The Cy Young Award Prize leads all baseball in the war and the era. He directs the national league behind the stick.
