Art The Clown’s Origin will be revealed in terrifying 4 confirms the director … but there is a catch

According to the director / screenwriter, Damien Leone, terrifying 4 will finally reveal some original details for Art The Clown, but do not expect a linear explanation.
Speaking with Collider, Leone followed an Instagram birthday article earlier, where he confirmed that he would explain the background frame in the fourth and last terrifying film. Howver, he will adopt an approach to David Lynch.
Previously, Leone wrote on Instagram: “I could also enjoy this day and give all the fans of the terrifying a little present in return – the script for terrifying 4 is in progress and it is being the most epic, horrible, exciting, emotional and satisfactory to the conclusion of the terrifying.”
Now he says to Collider, that he will not pose everything in a neat and well -stored way. Instead, he will adopt David Lynch’s approach by nourishing the public songs and letting them connect the points.
Said Leone, “Once I wrote part 2, I decided to really start telling the story. I wanted to say almost in a Lynchian way. I could never be at the same level as David Lynch. It is one of my heroes. But I like the way he tells stories, and they are very abstract. It does not give you answers. If he tried to articulate, it would trivialize and decrease the beauty of what he did as an artist. His voice is his work. He is not supposed to tell you what he did. “”
Leone also pointed out “...I think that many people do not realize that the reason it works so well is because of mystics. If you remove the curtain too far and lose this mystique, it’s over. You are not supposed to see the assistant behind the curtain. It is almost always a disappointment.“”
Lynch was sadly famous for surrealist imaging and fragmented stories that led the public to draw its own conclusions. This was particularly obvious in his work on Twin Peaks.
Art The Clown began as a recurring character in a series of Leone shorts and the anthology series, All Hallows’ Eve (2013). From there, the character was transferred to his own series of films, from terrifying (2016), terrifying 2 (2022) and terrifying 3 (2024).
Known for their sadistic gore, the films are made with incredibly modest budgets, each episode behaving better than the last on the box office. For example, terrifying 3, filmed with a production budget of $ 2 million and brought in $ 90.3 million at the box office.
Terrifying 4 is currently without release date but is developing and should be released in theaters in 2026.
