Ayesha Curry says that Stephen Curry wanted to be a high school coach

Imagine a world where Stephen Curry, the best shooter 3 points from all time, did not play in the NBA.
He would still be on hardwood, but instead of playing professionally, he would be in touch with training high school basketball. It could have been a possibility, according to his wife, Ayesha.
On the podcast “Call Her Daddy”, Ayesha admitted that she did not know that Stephen would become an NBA star: “I did not know that he was going to end up playing basketball. He said he wanted to be high school basketball coach.”
Ayesha, 36, also explained how to become a famous couple had an impact very early on their relationship.
She admitted that she “hated” being under the spotlight in the early stages of her relationship with Stephen.
The couple met in 2003 and began to go out together in 2009 before marrying in July 2011, four years before the Golden State Warriors won their first NBA title in 2015. They have four children together.
She also told Podcast host Alex Cooper that she advised Stephen to stay at school instead of entering the 2009 NBA draft, where he was selected by the Warriors. However, Ayesha said she was happy to have left Davidson to declare the project.
“He ended up finishing anyway and continued to make an S — incredible, cool – that we would never have thought of arriving, so it’s great,” said Ayesha.
Stephen collected an average of 24.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and six assists in the regular season 2024-25 for the Warriors and was appointed to the second All-NBA team.
