Jaiswal stands while 15 counters fall an eventful day at the oval

Day 2 of the fifth and last test between India and England turned out to be a captivating affair while 15 counters tumbled dramatically to the oval. By Stums, India had taken a thin advantage, leading to 52 points with the 75/2 reading dashboard in the second round.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, presenting resilience and composure, remained undefeated on 51. The young opener, however, had luck for his side – having fallen twice by the Championships of England. Despite these results, he confidently anchored the sleeves of India. India lost KL Rahul and the beginner Sai Sudharsan at a lower cost, but Jaiswal made sure that visitors closed the day on a positive note.

Earlier in the day, England resumed its first rounds after an interrupted departure and managed to take a brief advance, thanks to a Graveleux Harry Brook. The hosts, however, collapsed under pressure from the Indian sewing attack.



Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna were the stars with the ball for India. The two claimed four counters each, dismantle the average and lower English order with a precise and persistent bowling alley. For Krishna, the 4/62 figures have marked her best return test to date. Meanwhile, Siraj has engraved his name in record books, becoming the main window in the current series Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.

India now holding a narrow advance and two full days of cricket still in front, the test remains finely ready. The two teams will be impatient to seize the momentum while they are fighting not only for a victory, but for the pride of the series of the series.
