Neymar went to tears after Santos suffered from the 6-0 defeat

Neymar was left in tears on the field while Santos endured an overwhelming 6-0 defeat at home against Vasco Da Gama – the greatest defeat of his career.
The defeat scored the first time that Santos conceded six home goals in a Brazilian match of Serie A, leaving the eight champions dangerously only two points above the relegation zone. The result also cost coach Cleber Xavier his work, the club announcing its dismissal just hours after the match.
Vasco’s victory, their first in six league games and their greatest in 17 years, was underlined by the former striker of Liverpool and Aston Villa, Philippe Coutinho, marking twice.
Speaking after the match, Neymar did not hold back his frustration.
“I’m ashamed,” he said. “I am totally disappointed with our performance. Fans have the right to protest, obviously without using violence. But if they want to cursed and insult, they are in their right.”
During its emotional exit from the field, Neymar added: “I never experienced this in my life. Tears were anger, everything. Unfortunately, I can’t help but make it all ways.”
Santos was relegated for the first time in their history in 2023 before returning to the elite last season. Neymar, who crossed the ranks of young people from the club before leaving for Barcelona in 2013, returned to a short -term contract in January and has since contributed six goals and three assists of 21 appearances in all competitions.
By thinking about the humiliating loss, Neymar said: “It’s a shame to play like that wearing Santos’ jersey. Everyone has to throw their heads on their pillow and think about what they want to do.”
