Ice cane dod? Internal security creates “voluntary forces” ICE / CPB “

I had heard information that the Pentagon sent official emails to Pentagon employees telling them the great opportunities available by working for ice and CBP. Then, I was told about this new announcement in Usajobs – the Official Council for US government’s jobs. He indicates that the Ministry of Internal Security creates something called the “voluntary force” of the ICE / CBP which is open to all civilian employees of the DOD.
The list bed …
The volunteer force (VF) of the Ministry of Internal Security (DHS) offers civilian employees of the Ministry of Defense the possibility of supporting immigration and customs application (ICE) and customs protection (CBP) in their commitment to ensure a safe and ordered immigration system. Volunteers will occupy critical support stations up to 180 days in an ice or CBP installation. Travel, accommodation and losses can be reimbursed by the reception agency. Detail is not a promotion opportunity.
It is not clear of the description. But it doesn’t really look like a “volunteer”. More like you continue to draw your DOD salary, but you will work for ice for six months. And the registration title describes as a “DOD detail” which would be this type of temporary reallocation.
This comes in the middle of what is already serious shortages of staff in DOD following Doge.
More to come.
Late update: From what I can understand, the job list has been underway for almost two weeks. But that only seems to have drawn attention today when the Pentagon sent an official email to its employees encouraging them to apply. Since the publication, I noticed that 404 Media has also published a story about it now. I suspect that we both heard about it about sources that learned it on this subject from the internal e-mail of the DOD. The moment of our two stories makes it almost certain. This page suggests that the “voluntary force” of the DHS was created from this year of this year, although a version of it may have existed earlier. As an indiction of the state of organization, the email you asked to use to apply is an email address Fema.
