In season 6 of “Gray’s Anatomy”, Seattle Grace merges with a neighboring hospital, Mercy West, which introduces new residents into the mixture. Later in the episode, after having shot Alex Karev and killed anonymous doctors and nurses, Gary burst into a patient room belonging to Mary Portman (guest star Mandy Moore), where surgeons from Dr Charles Percy (Robert Baker) and Dr Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) hide. Miranda lies and says she is a nurse, but Charles admits that he is a surgeon, and Gary shoots him before leaving. Reed’s death is brutally rapid, but from a reverse, the death of Charles takes forever While Miranda and Mary try not to save her life. “Sanctuary” and “Death and all his friends” are two truly Large dramatic episodes of television, and the death of Charles and Reed are striking examples of the horrors of armed violence, even when you are surrounded by excellent doctors.
