8 worst creative decisions made in the movies of Marvel and DC superheroes of 2025

2025 saw the release of three MCU films (Captain America: Brave New World,, Thunderbolts *And The Fantastic Four: First steps) and one of the DCU (Superman).
Overall, it was a great year-alongside the first solo outing of Sam Wilson-even if they all had a hard office in this new era of the so-called superhero fatigue. Along the way, we saw Harrison Ford Hulk, explored depression and solitude in the superhero space, met a man of hope and reintroduced for Marvel’s first family.
In each of these films, there were creative decisions which, honestly, are not very well with us. From certain points of the intrigue to the radical modifications of the source material and the questionable modifications made during the post-production, Marvel Studios and DC Studios made mistakes.

8. Superman clone
Many characters could have been under the Mask of Ultraman in SupermanIncluding the parasite and a specific bizarre.
Instead, we ended up with a Générique Superman clone, with David Corenswet carrying a wig and some prostheses to play the silent doppelgänger of the steel man. The door was slightly ajar for the clone to come back as a bizarre, but that does not seem to have been Gunn’s intention.
We are used to a fan of theories that build false expectations, but it looked like a lazy way to give swees to hit. Instead of Ultraman, why not put Lex Luthor in a prototype of his emblematic cuisine?
7. The chief and the “snakes”

Thanks to a large recovery, Captain America: Brave New World has undergone radical changes. Something about the film obviously did not work, but we find it hard to believe that the previous versions of the leader and “snakes” were worse than that.
The appearance of the leader’s zombie was terrible and failed to make him the sympathetic character that Marvel Studios was aiming. The photos of the original design are infinitely better.
As for snakes, we would have loved seeing Captain America face the company Serpent Superpowe in place of the Sidewinder Geneic by Giancarlo Esposito and its mercenaries.
6. The death of Taskmaster

Black widowThe working master was a outburst, but the costume was considerably better in Thunderbolts *And the opportunity was there to do something interesting with Antonia Dreykov.
We learned that the original script had its link with Ghost and tried several times to kill an American agent before finally joining the ranks of the new Avengers. Instead, the theatrical cup gave Olga Kurylenko only one line of dialogue before she took a bullet to the head.
The death of Taskmaster is not a huge tragedy, but that seems a waste, and we do not think that it has helped the issues a lot (especially since Marvel Studios did not give us a reason to worry about it).
5. Start McU of Mole Man

It is clear that large pieces of The Fantastic Four: First steps were left on the floor of the cutting room to ensure that the film experienced an execution time of less than two hours. Red Ghost was the biggest victim, but Mole Man did not behave much better.
Paul Walter Hauser scored a little too much for our taste, and never really had enough time to have a lasting impact. It is obvious that we were supposed to spend more time in Subterranea, and that there are more taupe men on the floor of the cut room.
Like Taskmaster, we can live with it, but it was an undeniable weakness. The fight with Giganto could also have done with a few more seconds.
4. Remove the days of Superman of the week

According to the testing leaks of the test (and confirmed by a recently published featurette), Superman Originally, a Days of the Week format. The film was essentially “a week in the life of the steel man”, but the audience of the tests was not lively, and it was put to the swing.
However, it is obviously obvious by watching the film that Gunn wrote the film around this format. The clumsy cups in black make Superman Few favors, and anyway, it always seems very episodic.
The insertion of the days of the week would have at least made it less shocked and was an approach to the narration of superheroes that we have not necessarily seen before. Superman Still hovering, but it shows how testing tests can hurt more than they help.
3. The leader’s warning

Thunderbolts * And The Fantastic Four: First steps Delivered two excellent post-key scenes configured Avengers: DoomsdayBut the same cannot be said to Captain America: Brave New World. In fact, this Stinger ranks among the worst of all time in the studio.
Shot before Avengers: Doomsday began production, he sees the leader deliver a vague warning concerning different worlds and the “others” who come to obtain the most powerful heroes of the earth.
Everything, from the cheesy dialogue and guinded to the way it is fired, assured that it fell flat. Devil, when he fled online a day or two before Captain America: Brave New WorldThe theatrical beginnings of most fans were convinced that he was generated by AI.
2. * New Avengers

Thunderbolts * is an excellent film, but we must reveal that the great new Avengers reveal. It is a bit cool that this team ended up being revealed as an official team of the Avengers du McU, and this certainly helps to make them feel more important.
At the same time, just as this film had trouble in the box office because it featured superheroes in streaming B and C-List, we do not think that it is the biggest idea of making them all the Avengers. Bucky, Yelena and Bob, of course, but Red Guardian? Ghost? This is not quite suitable.
The biggest problem is that it feels nailed, just like the way marketing pivoted on “The New Avengers” after the film’s release. Why not try to do something significant with the Thunderbolts brand?
1. Jor-el and Lara Lor-Van Nattle

Depending on the size of a Superman fan, this change has exasperated you or let you ask yourself why James Gunn felt the need to do what could be considered a largely unnecessary change in Kal-el Kryptonian heritage.
The revelation that the man of tomorrow was sent to earth to conquer the planet and forming a harem is a great point of the plot, and ends up taking into account the trip of Clark Kent and why he later kisses his humanity. However, did the film have to cine Jor-El and Lara to get there?
Gunn has certainly put his own stamp on tops with this decision, but it is easy to see why many fans were embittered on the film (devil, it is like the kind of thing that the man who killed Jimmy Olsen, Zack Snyder, would …).
