The Conjuring the franchise officially ended after the release of Last riteswhich turns out to be the final entry in the long-running horror series. While many speculated that The Conjuring might return in some capacity, director Michael Chaves admitted that wouldn’t be the case.
However, this does not mean that the larger universe of The Conjuring must also end. There are already several major spin-offs in the Conjuring franchise, and there have been even more rumored projects over the years. Peter Safran, head of Warner Bros., even said that a second phase of the franchise could be in the works.
It’s unclear exactly what this second phase will look like, but if it’s anything like the first, audiences can expect to see many of the series’ iconic villains and spirits. Conjuring the films return for their own stories. And without Ed and Lorraine Warren to stop them, This Fallout Could End Up Being Even Scarier than the originals.

The bride
The bride appeared briefly in The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do Itbut did not play a particularly important role in the story. However, once this sequel was released and Warner Bros. was thinking about how to push the franchise into the future, the character’s name was brought up in several rumors.
James Wan has often spoken about his desire to give rich, long stories to even the most mundane characters in the world. Conjuring franchise, and The bride fits this description perfectly. Since so little is known about her, creatives would have a completely blank slate to work with. This can be incredibly exciting for both viewers and the people working on the film.
Gary Dauberman, director of Annabelle comes home, admitted to Reverse, “I have pages of pages on [The Bride’s] history. The way the dress haunts the people who own it. I think this can be a really, really fun story to tell.“
It’s certainly a fascinating idea; the only problem is that we almost know Nothing about the Bride at this point. It might be difficult to involve the audience in a spin-off idea for a character they don’t already know. This has already worked with projects like The nunbut the recent conclusion of Conjuring the series makes it a much riskier game.

Annabelle 4
There has been no official comment on the prospect of Annabelle 4but it seems like a very safe and reliable way to get the franchise back on its feet after Last rites‘ a fairly definitive ending. A familiar face like Annabelle is more likely to attract audiences, and the previous films have all performed well.
The time for The Conjuring taking risks will come, but it is not now. Annabelle is a reliable property that has already brought in a lot of money for Warner Bros, and it’s been six years since the previous installment. As long as there’s an interesting story to tell, Annabelle 4 could be the perfect concept to keep this franchise alive.

The twisted man
The twisted man was the most elusive Conjuring spin-off for several years now. The main character was first introduced in The Conjuring 2 and quickly became the subject of a highly anticipated project that was ultimately shelved when Warner Bros. decided to prioritize the main film saga.
Little is known about Crooked Man himself, but James Wan has often spoken about his vision for a dark, gothic horror film that would explore his origins and motivations. The character left a huge impression after his debut, but something about this enigmatic Crooked man the sequel just never managed to get off the ground.
With the Conjuring The films are officially over, Warner Bros. now has the perfect opportunity to prioritize this spin-off and finally give Crooked Man the story he deserves. It would be extremely encouraging to see the rumored project come to fruition. after almost a decade of cancellations and setbacks.

The Nun III
In many ways, THE Religious movies are the model of what makes the Conjuring such successful spin-offs. The main character did not play a particularly important role in The Conjuring 2, but the writers clearly saw the potential in her story and managed to turn her into one of the franchise’s most iconic villains.
The series is going to be in a tough spot over the next few years, but the Nun’s return is an extremely exciting prospect that would also have the added benefit of being a reliable box office performer. The original film still has the highest opening weekend of the entire franchise and remains the second highest grossing. Conjuring movie ever (via Box office mojo).

The Samurai
Alternatively, instead of relying on previous franchises to maintain the Conjuring living universe, the franchise could fully rely on the idea of ”Phase 2″ and introduce a whole new wave of characters and storylines. There would have to be a connection to the previous films, but there’s nothing stopping Wan from exploring entirely new genres and styles as well.
In this case, the long-standing rumor The Samurai the spin-off would be a perfect candidate. This project has been discussed for many years and would supposedly tell the story of the haunted samurai armor on display in the Warrens’ artifact room.
In the aforementioned interview with Reverse, Dauberman admitted that he had discussed with Wan the idea of making a “slasher” film about the Samurai. It would be very different from the previous one Conjuring the fallout, and the start of “Phase 2” is the perfect excuse to begin this change in style. This could breathe new life into the universe and attract viewers who may be drawn to this style of horror.

The Revenge of La Llorona
The Revenge of La Llorona East one of the rare Conjuring sequels already confirmed as the franchise enters its second phase, and it has the potential to be another huge success for Warner Bros. La Llorona The film certainly wasn’t as successful at the box office as the studio hoped, but the sequel could certainly break that trend.
Audiences are eager to see a more distinct and self-contained piece of supernatural horror from the Conjuring films after the conclusion of the main series, and that’s exactly what The Revenge of La Llorona can offer. This spin-off franchise doesn’t have many connections to The Conjuring at all, but that doesn’t have to be a bad thing.
The Revenge of La Llorona was officially announced in October 2025, just a few weeks after the release of The Conjuring: Last Rites. It would be directed by Santiago Menghini and written by Sean Tretta, with Monica Raymund, Jay Hernandez and Raymond Cruz. featured in the main roles.

The Conjuring prequel
Since it was announced that Last rites would mark the departure of Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga from Conjuring universe, fans have speculated that the franchise could continue without them. A Conjuring the prequel would be allow the series to continue without relying on these two actors to return.
In fact, the long-speculated hypothesis Conjuring the prequel appears to have caused conflict between Warner Bros. and Wan. Puck News reports that while the World Bank intends to move forward with this spinoff, creative differences and salary disputes mean that could happen. without Wan, the creator of the franchise.
This definitely puts obstacles in the way, but the fact remains that Conjuring the prequel would be an incredibly exciting way to breathe new life into this franchise and continue the legacy of Ed and Lorraine without relying on the same actors. It will take time to work out the details, but this seems like a very natural step forward.
