60 million pounds sterling arsenal could be a better signature than Wirtz & Isak

The Arsenal supporters all hoped that their clubs would invest massively in the team this summer, but even the most optimistic Gooner must have been satisfied and surprised by the extent of summer recruitment.

On the day of the deadline, Piero Hincapié was unveiled as the eighth summer signature, joining Bayer Leverkusen with the obligation to buy around 45 million pounds sterling, becoming the first squadio in the history of the club.

Before that, the Gunners had spent around 267 million pounds sterling, strengthening all regions of their team, after the Mikel Arteta team was so considerably hampered by injuries last season.

Although some signatures have made the headlines, could one of the arrivals under the arsenal radar really be the best signature of the Premier League this summer?

Arsenal attack reinforcements

We will never know, but it is prudent to suppose that Arsenal would not have invested in their team as strongly as they did, had the current champions of the Premier League Liverpool, the team they finally try to dethrone, have passed even more.

The Reds signed Alexander Isak for 125 million pounds Sterling on the day of the deadline, breaking the record costs of the Premier League, bringing their summer expenditure to around 450 million pounds sterling, with the move from Florian Wirtz to 116 million pounds Sterling by Bayer Leverkusen, a short -term British record.

Newcastle striker Alexander Isak

The German has not yet shone in a Liverpool shirt, although it was very early, and he marked a delicious free kick against Northern Ireland in Rheinergierdion last Sunday, presenting his talent.

While waiting for Isak, it is, no doubt, the best striker in the world, not a bad player to add to your team if you are a slot machine, but it will be interesting to see how he integrates, considering his colleague recruit Hugo Ekitiké has already caught his eye, and how long he takes to get up to date.

Nevertheless, the champions now have a range of attacker talents, with Arsenal recruiting Noni Madueke, Ebelechi Eze and Viktor Gyökeres in response.

Eze is expected to make his impatient debut at home against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, while Gyökeres obtained mixed criticisms so far, barely involved against Manchester United and Liverpool, but marking a splint during the Home match of the Gunners, the Demolition 5-0 of Leeds.

However, could a new, less announced recruit really be the best in Arsenal?

Arsenal’s best summer signature

With Jorginho and Thomas Partey who both left Arsenal as free agents this summer, the basis of their midfielder has undergone a major overhaul, and important to this, since the player in this position is the nucleus of an Arteta team.

Martín Zubimenddi is the new Fulcrum in the midfield, arriving with a fanfare, even if it deserves much more.

There are several reasons for this.

First, David Ornstein of athletics reported in mid-January that his move from Real Sociedad was essentially an agreement concluded, which means that when it arrived in July, most of anticipation and excitement were calmed.

In addition, at the time, Gyökeres should not yet join, with gooners fixed on the signing of the attacker, unable to be satisfied with anything else until it is done.

Nevertheless, Zubimendi is someone who deserves to be announced, in particular because the Spanish international refused the chance to join Liverpool 12 months earlier, stressing the attractiveness of the move to Arsenal.

The reason for which Zubimenddi was so sorted after is simply because he is an exceptional player, like the document the table below.

It should be noted that Zubimenddi’s statistics last season are all the more impressive since its side of the Sociedad ended 11th at La Liga, their lowest end since 2018, losing almost half of their matches.

Upon his arrival in northern London, Arteta spoke brilliantly about his compatriot, praising his “football intelligence”, adding that he will bring “a huge quality”, concluding that “he has all the attributes to be a key player”.

Already in the first three arsenal games, Zubimenddi was able to show what it is, completing 145 of his 167 passes, including 11 in the last third, while 12 are classified as progressives.

The 26-year-old may not be someone you have really noticed in Arsenal matches so far, plus a player you have to witness in the flesh to really appreciate, but he has crucially the capacities to increase the speed of the players in possession, improving the team at both ends of the field.

If the Arteta team continues to achieve what it wants to achieve this year, the 60 million pounds sterling paid for the signing of Zubimenddi will look like a flight. People on Anfield can live well on the street who is missing it a year ago …
