Six people were found dead Wednesday evening on a dairy farm in northern Colorado, officials said.

According to the Southeast Weld Fire Protection District, the six victims were discovered around 6 am local time after the crews were sent to a confined space rescue. One of these victims was a high school student who attended Highland high school, confirmed the school district of Weld Re-9.

The Coroner office of the County of Weld told CBS News Colorado that the preliminary results indicated a kind of gas exposure to Prospect Valley Dairy, located east of Keenesburg and south of Deadman Road.

The Coroner office said the victims were all identified as men. Five victims are adults and the other victim was the student who attended the County high school. No name was immediately released.

While civil servants work to confirm details and identities, members of the nearby community are also nearby. CBS Colorado spoke with a man leaving Prospect Ranch, who said he worked there and had led to who was involved. It was then that he learned that the deceased were his friends.

The authorities have said that autopsies will take place in the coming days.

According to the Sheriff’s Bureau of Weld, nothing in a criminal nature has been discovered on the scene. The OSHA conducts a federal investigation into the incident.

Keenesburg is located 41 miles northeast of Denver.
