6 Delhi Capitals Women hitters set to target WPL 2026 mega auction

Delhi Capitals (DC) Women have retained their core, barring captain Meg Lanning, before the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 mega auction. But that doesn’t mean the 3-time runners-up won’t have to build an entirely new squad. Since they have retained 3 batters and 2 all-rounders, DC Women won’t need many batters. But they’ll need some reinforcements.

To begin with, they’ll need openers to bat alongside Shafali Verma. Foreigners like Phoebe Litchfield and Laura Wolvaardt will be their target. The former’s more attacking, while the latter’s a consolidator.

Kiran Navgire and Yastika Bhatia can both open and bat at number three. The latter is a wicketkeeper as well, which DC Women don’t have. Vrinda Dinesh can slot in at this position as well. The talented batter from Karnataka hasn’t broken onto the scene yet, but is expected to come of age soon.

Since Jemimah Rodrigues, Annabel Sutherland, and Niki Prasad all bat in the middle order, DC Women won’t need any batters for positions four to seven. But a talented Indian batter like Harleen Deol could be of use. Primarily due to the fact that more than four foreigners can’t play. Niki would be the designated finisher, but Scotland’s Sarah Bryce can play that role and is a wicketkeeper as well.
