6.1 Treverture of magnitude reported near Greece: USGS

An earthquake of amplitude of 6.1 was reported near Greece early Wednesday, the local time, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The management of Greek emergencies warned against a possible risk of tsunami after the earthquake, which the agency declared from nearly 30 miles southeast of Kasos as a magnitude earthquake of 5.9.

“Get away from the coast immediately,” said Greek emergency management.

The USGS said the epicenter is more than 9 miles south of Fry, Greece.
