5 FPL assets for sale in GW12

Take a look at the latest injury concerns and players for sale in Premier League Gameweek 12

The international break has not only congested our matches: it has also generated a new set of injury problems, yellow flags and doubts that will shape our decisions at GW12.

With key players taking hits, minutes at risk, and several assets entering tougher matchups, this is one of those weeks where selling early can save you headaches later.

Whether you’re protecting your rankings or preparing for a GW13 wildcard, here are five players you should consider passing or avoiding altogether this week, especially with some of them facing injury uncertainty or a steep drop in FPL value.

Gabriel (6.6m)

David Ornstein’s update was the confirmation FPL managers didn’t want: Gabriel looks set to miss one to two months after picking up an injury during the international break.

Arsenal’s defensive structure is strong enough that the owners of their other defenders won’t panic, but for Gabriel in particular the decision is simple: it’s a sale.

This series of games is too long to go and the position is too valuable to remain idle. The positive side? This opens the door to more reliable options.

Van Dijk, Muñoz or even Timber – who now seems safe for a few minutes – offer shutout potential and stability that Gabriel cannot offer at the moment.

Antoine Séményo (8.1 m)

Semenyo isn’t a hard sell yet, but he’s one to watch closely as the GW12 deadline approaches. He was sent off for Ghana after aggravating a left ATFL sprain – an injury that players can sometimes overcome, but the dreaded yellow flag always deserves attention.

Personally I think he will make the squad, but we should get clearer information at Bournemouth’s press conference later in the week.

If he is ruled out or even if he suggests there is doubt, the decision is simple. Both Cunha and Mbeumo offer strong short-term value and are easy lateral transfers that won’t disrupt your structure.

Marc Guéhi (5.1m)

Guéhi is another name that carries a yellow flag, and the signs are not ideal. He picked up a foot problem before the break and is believed to have not taken part in Palace’s final full squad training sessions.

This alone suggests that he is unlikely to feature in GW12. It’s worth waiting for Glasner’s press conference, but with the information we have now, planning for at least one missed game seems wise.

Fortunately, this doesn’t seem to be a long-term problem. From GW13 it is expected to be available again. If you can bench him for a week, great – but if not, a short-term change may be necessary.

Viktor Gyökeres (8.9 m)

Information on Viktor Gyökeres is pretty thin, with the only notable update being that he “remains a doubt for the weekend”, via @HandofArsenal.

Whether he makes the team or not, this seems like a natural point to consider moving him forward. Arsenal’s matches are taking a more difficult turn and their recent production has not lived up to their early season promise.

With model options such as Mateta taking ownership and generating stable returns, staying with Gyökeres currently carries more risk than reward.

Even if he does end up being available, this seems like a smart time to jump ship before losing ground to managers who are already turning to more in-form strikers.

Dan Burn (5.2m)

Burn’s red card puts him in the spotlight, but in truth that applies to most of Newcastle’s defensive strengths. Their run is turning, and the shutout potential just isn’t what it was earlier in the season.

With Bournemouth, Liverpool and Manchester United all offering defensive options with better fixtures and less ownership, now is a good time to reassess your choices at Newcastle.

Dan Burn’s owners will likely make him leave immediately, but the logic extends to the rest of the backline. You are not just reacting to a red card: you are anticipating a difficult period which could easily dry up returns. Get a head start while you can.
